This was a little print I made for my Younger sisters, Kiowa Quatesh Casey's university Photography dissertation project. Here is a link to the full project on my sisters website.
In this image I was able to experiment with Nunomezuri. This is where you glue fabric to a board (traditionally with Nikawa glue so it's very hard) and you emboss the fabric pattern into the paper. I used it in this print to simulate the texture of canvas and to give the printing a rougher blotchy style like the painting was.
The original image was a painting made by my youngest sister, painter Tem Amado Casey. She was commisioned by Kiowa to produce an image embodying the esence of the flight path of a flock of sparrows.
Adapting a very lose abstract painting like this is a little different form my usual delicate reproduction work and it was a fun and welcome change of pace.
